We cannot expect an economy to reach its full potential when half its population is not economically empowered. Let’s empower women to make a greater contribution to our economies by always considering a gender perspective in our development goals."

- Georgina Liswaniso, Consultant

Georgina is a development practitioner with a background in gender inclusive finance and private sector development through the promotion of inclusive value chains.

At Momentus, Georgina contributed to the gender responsive national financing strategy for an African government in her capacity as a Gender Consultant. This involved the review of existing national financing policies, strategies, and instruments to assess their effectiveness in addressing SGD 5, Gender Equality as a cross cutting issue.  Through an assessment of the financing landscape, she engaged and assessed relevant DFIs to review their institutional capacities to support the implementation of the strategy. Georgina currently manages an institutional gender strengthening project for selected Caribbean and Pacific DFIs where she continues to apply her expertise in gender mainstreaming. She also manages projects that support a regional African DFI in the development of its new Climate Finance Strategy one project, and its Technical Assistance Strategy and Fund Framework in the other.

Prior to Momentus, she worked as a Technical Advisor where she designed business development solutions for MSMEs to better participate in selected local value chains. She developed gender analyses for economic development projects and played a key role in integrating gender into the project interventions.

Georgina has a BA in Business Management and an MSc in Operations Management.

She is fluent in English and has limited working proficiency in French.
